Yahaya Bello signs 5 bills into law

Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello signed five Bills into law on Monday, according to his Chief Press Secretary of Kogi State, Onogwu Muhammed.

In a statement, Onogwu praised Bello for signing several Bills into law, which included that establishing a health science and technology college, providing for the retirement of teachers, establishing a roads fund management board, and allowing the peaceful celebration of cultural festivals.

He said that the Bills are aimed to advance cultural development, maintain peace and security, and manage the development of roads in the state.

The signing ceremony, which took place at the Government House in Lokoja, was attended by dignitaries, including the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, the Attorney General, and the Secretary to the state government.

The Governor emphasised the importance of the Bills in improving rural infrastructure and transforming the state. He praised the Assembly for their exceptional performance and commended the state Attorney General for ensuring compliance with existing laws.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole expressed his delight that the bills were passed and signed into law.

He commended Bello for promoting a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislature and fostering a peaceful atmosphere. The Speaker also praised the governor’s commitment to enacting these laws as a sign of his dedication to the development and progress of the state.
