Yobe residents, NUJ laud Buni over road project

The residents of Bade, Fika, and Nangere local government areas of Yobe State have expressed happiness and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for constructing access roads across various parts of the state.

In separate interviews, the residents made the commendation during an inspection tour organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe Council.

A resident of Tagali, Bade local government Mallam Kakdu Kafayo, said the 10km Chumbusko–Tagali road had made life easier for them.

According to him, ”Before the provision of the road, we could hardly transport our farm produce to various markets within and outside the state.

“Now we are happy to be connected to the other part of the state”.

Another resident, Malam Sama’ila Tagali, who is a motorist also commended the governor and appealed for storage facilities for the preservation and storage of their produce.

The village head of Chukuriwa, Alhaji Mihammadu Chukuriwa, also commended Govenor Buni for the 16.5km Dawasa, Chukuriwa, and Kukuri road.

He said the road has linked several villages along the route with major town of Potiskum.

He added that the people of the three communities will remain grateful to the commissioner for Works, who had facilitated the project.

According to LEADERSHIP, one of the projects had taken decades before its actualisation. That is why it is a very historic occasion and a legacy to this administration.

He added that the project had linked about five wards and three local government areas of Fika, Gujba and Gulani.

In his remarks, the NUJ chairman, Yobe Council, Rajab Mohammed Ismail, expressed appreciation for the projects and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his outstanding performance.
