Arrangements have been concluded for the presentation of staff of office to the newly installed Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, Ajibise Ogo I, on Thursday, 3rd November.

Ahead of the historic event, the Ogunsua palace has been completely redesigned and the entire edifice upgraded with facilities like sophisticated and contemporary furniture and lighting.

According to a statement by the Palace Media Committee, which was signed by Chief Adedayo Ojo, various committees of Modakeke stakeholders are engrossed with activities that would enhance a hitch-free and epoch-making event.

He said that various socio-cultural, religious societies and groups are engaged in planning side attractions that would make the event a must-attend.

The statement stated that the coronation would indeed the launch pad for repositioning Modakeke as a cultural pilgrimage destination.

Meanwhile, several societies, individuals and well-wishers have continued to pay homage to the new monarch with assurances of their readiness to participate in the event.

The Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU), led by Rotarian Julius Odelola Odegbemi is not leaving anything to chance to ensure that the coronation/presentation of the staff of office is memorable.

The numerous compounds in Modakeke have also been outdoing one another with active participation, while illustrious sons and daughters of Modakeke  at home and in the Diaspora have started arriving for the event.

The new monarch and the chiefs are also busy making preparations towards the successful organisation of the event.

Oba Toriola, who is eagerly looking forward to the D-Day, was full of gratitude to God Almighty; the Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetaola; His Imperial Majesty,  Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi; all Modakeke chiefs, the MPU leadership, sons and daughters of the town, other stakeholders, families, friends and well-wishers who have been contributing towards the successful holding of the event.

The Kabiyesi enjoined his subjects to celebrate the event peacefully without violence, which would not be in tandem with part of his vision to ensure peace in Modakeke and environ.

Oba Toriola also advised the youth to always dissipate their energy on fruitful ventures that would be beneficial to them and the community.
