The Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to working closely with traditional institutions to accelerate development across the area.
He expressed appreciation to the people for their confidence in the council members and assured them of his administration’s dedication to delivering on its mandate.
During the two-day working tour, Dogara led all councillors and management staff to visit the palaces of various traditional rulers.
The team visited the palaces of the Kpop Gwong, Paul Zakkah Wyom; the Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu; and the Tum Nikyob, Tanko Tete.
He highlighted some of the council’s recent achievements, including the payment of fees for West African School Certificate Examination and the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for 550 students, and securing employment opportunities for some citizens.
He emphasised the people-oriented projects being executed by Governor Uba Sani, calling for continued support and cooperation from the public.
In response, the traditional rulers commended the chairman for the visit and presented key challenges affecting their communities, including poor road infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, lack of potable water, and security concerns.
The tour took the team to Zikpak, Godogodo, and Barde chiefdoms. At each palace, Dogara reiterated his commitment to improving the living conditions of residents and strengthening ties between the council and traditional institutions.
The Agwam Zikpak, Josiah Kantyok emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence as a foundation for meaningful development.
The Chief of Godogodo, Rev. Habila Sa’idu appealed to the council to address boundary disputes, while the Chief of Barde, Njebi Daniel Lemson raised concerns over the insecurity plaguing his chiefdom.
Across all the chiefdoms, common issues such as befitting palaces, road rehabilitation, improved security, and potable water supply were presented to the Jema’a council for urgent consideration.
Dogara assured the traditional leaders that their concerns would be addressed, stressing that his administration remains committed to ensuring sustainable development in the local government area.
