The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has appointed Kubiangha Ekeng Ita as the State Coordinator for Osun State.
Kubiangha, who is the 16th state coordinator, replaces Agbor Ndoma Obim.
Obim formally handed over to Ita at the NYSC state secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital, on Friday.
In his valedictory address, Obim described his tenure as fulfilling and attributed the achievements recorded to teamwork, collective responsibility, and dedication to the ideals of the agency.
‘I urge you to sustain professionalism, integrity, and cooperation and also appeal for full support for the new coordinator to ensure the continued growth of the Scheme in Osun State’, he said.
In his acceptance speech, Ita thanked God for his appointment and commended the outgoing administration for its contributions to the advancement of the NYSC in the state.
He charged officers to discharge their duties with diligence, honesty, and commitment, stressing that service in the Scheme should be rendered as unto God.
He described Osun State ‘as a torchbearer within the NYSC family, being the State of origin of the Director-General’.
‘I urge staff to uphold the good reputation and testimonies associated with the state. Honour is earned, not forced. All heads of departments should lead by example’.
The new state coordinator also called for integrity, accountability, and professionalism and warned against extortion and any conduct capable of tarnishing the image of the scheme.
He assured staff seeking conversion or career advancement of his support, while emphasising the importance of mentoring subordinates, delegating responsibilities, and working in synergy.
