Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that his administration will intensify infrastructure, housing, healthcare, and security projects.
This is as he declared that ‘the best is yet to come’, as he marked seven years in office.
Sanwo-Olu made the declaration in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, while reflecting on the administration’s achievements since assuming office in 2019.
‘As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come.
‘We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive’, the governor said.
‘The governor thanked Lagos residents for their support and patience over the years, describing the journey of his administration as one built on shared sacrifice, resilience, and collective progress’.
‘Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all.
‘Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience, and partnership you have shown.
‘Your support has been the bedrock of every milestone we have achieved, from improved infrastructure and healthcare, to education reforms, urban mass transport systems, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of our state’, he said.
Sanwo-Olu said despite global economic shocks, including the COVID-19 pandemic and other social challenges, the administration had remained focused on delivering its THEMES+ Agenda.
He also applauded President Bola Tinubu, stating that the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda had supported Lagos State’s progress in infrastructure, health, education, and empowerment.
The governor added that his administration had presented its scorecard to residents through ministerial press briefings held over the past month.
‘All our modest achievements in the past years have been presented to the good people of Lagos’, he said.
Sanwo-Olu further urged residents to continue supporting government policies and called on private sector players and development partners to strengthen collaboration with the state government on sustainable development initiatives.
He also thanked civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress for their contributions to the growth of Lagos over the past seven years.
