The family of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced a 40th-day prayer gathering in honour of the veteran thespian.
Kira, one of the actor’s daughters, announced the gathering on Instagram on Wednesday, inviting family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to the prayer session.
The event is scheduled to hold on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 12 noon at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.
Ogogo was buried at the same location on August 24, following his death at the age of 66.
The invitation poster featured a portrait of the late actor with the inscription: “You are invited to the 40 days prayer for Alh. Al-Hassan Babatunde Taiwo ‘Ogogo.’”
The gathering is expected to bring together members of Ogogo’s family, friends, colleagues and associates as they continue to honour his memory and celebrate his contribution to the Yoruba film industry.
Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, after a career spanning more than four decades in the Nigerian film industry, particularly the Yoruba-language sector.
The 40th-day prayer is being organised in accordance with Islamic tradition as the family continues to mourn the death of the veteran actor.
