Afrobeats star Davido has expressed confidence that a joint tour with fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid would sell out venues across the world, saying he would charge $500,000 per show for the proposed venture.

The singer made the disclosure during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of recording music and embarking on a tour with Wizkid.

Davido, however, admitted that he was uncertain whether a joint song with Wizkid would become a major hit, citing the collaboration between D’banj and 2Baba as an example.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” he said.

He expressed greater confidence in their prospects as touring partners, adding: “If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out.”

Davido also revealed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in about 10 years, stressing that their lack of collaboration was not due to an inability to work together.

According to him, they had not been in the same mental space to pursue a joint musical project.

The singer further acknowledged differing opinions about their rivalry, with some believing it had contributed to their individual success, while others think a collaboration could further boost their careers.

Speaking about moving beyond past disagreements, Davido said maturity was important in recognising when one’s feelings about a situation had changed.

“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.
