UK media platform to honour Gbajabiamila, Lawan, others

A United Kingdom-based media platform, Triangle News International Magazine has concluded plans to honour some lawmakers of the ninth National Assembly as part of the 2023 Triangle International Magazine Awards.

The publisher of the magazine, Femi Salako stated that the lawmakers were selected based on their outstanding performance and their contributions toward the holistic growth and development of their respective constituencies and senatorial districts.

The event is scheduled to hold in London, United Kingdom, on 6th May 2023.

Prominent Nigerians shortlisted for the award in various categories include Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig.-General Buba Marwa (rtd.); and Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami.

Other members of the ninth Senate to be honoured are Senators Orji Kalu, Tolu Odebiyi, Remi Tinubu, Barau Jibril, Aliyu Wamakko, Abba Moro, Opeyemi Bamidele, Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Biodun Olujimi, Mohammed Musa, Adamu Aliero and Elisha Abbo.

Members of the House of Representatives to be recognised are Hons. Mayowa Akinfolarin, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Babajimi Benson, Abass Tajudeen, Ade Adeogun, Aliyu Betara, Leke Abejide, Timehin Adelegbe, Tajudeen Abass, Aliyu Magaji-Dau, and Alhassan Ado-Dogowa.

In a statement on Saturday, the organisers of the award stated that the eventual ratification of the nominees followed a painstaking assessment of their commitment to good governance in Nigeria, particularly in the last four years.
