Nigeria Breweries Plc has said “Maltina Teacher’’ at this year’s competition” will receive a N10 million reward.

Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan, spoke in Lagos at a media parley. In addition, she said the winner will be given a trophy, and training abroad, while his school will get a classroom block or computer laboratory.

Morgan noted the platform recognises and appreciates teachers for the stewardship of the most precious resource – the youth.

She said the competition remains a platform to reward and inspire teachers for their contribution to the development of education and society.

“Our teachers continue to play their role and should be appreciated, recognised and celebrated for what they do in human and national development”, she said.

Managing Director, Hans Essaadi, represented by Human Resource Director, Grace Omo-Lamai, said this year’s edition represents the beginning of another journey to appreciating and celebrating the dedication of teachers.

Essaadi said the company, through the Felix-Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, remains committed to supporting teachers in shaping leaders and changing lives of pupils.

“Maltina Teacher of the Year competition is an opportunity to express our gratitude to teachers for their sacrifices, the extra hours they invest, and the guidance and mentorship they provide to ensure the success of our youth. Through this competition, we recognise the efforts of teachers in ways they have shaped our future. We acknowledge their selflessness, passion for teaching, and pursuit of the growth and development of our nation”, he said.

He noted other organisations have identified with this initiative, adding Union Bank Plc and Woodhall Capital Foundation have been enlisted as main partners while First City Monument Bank and Alert Group are supporting partners.

Morgan said the first runner-up will also get a trophy and N3 million; the second runner-up, a trophy and N2.5 million.

All State Champions will be rewarded with plaques and N1 million each.
