Nigeria has named a 32-man roster for the second phase of their training camp ahead of the anticipated two-legged African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying fixture against archrivals Ghana in December.

Most players have received notification of their invitation and will join the Super Eagles B, with some of the latest additions including Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Suur Kumaga of Lobi Stars, Ossu Martin, experienced winger Bernard Ovoke, Aniekeme Okon, Ubong Friday of Rivers United, and U-23 and Water FC star Dominion Ohaka.

Others are Kano Pillars trio Abiam Nelson, Aminu Adams, and Sudais Alibaba.

All invited players are expected to report to camp for intensive preparations under the tutelage of Fidelis Ikechukwu and Daniel Amokachi while Augustine Eguaveon goes on an assignment outside the country.

The team began camp on Wednesday last week before being dispatched the following day to represent their various clubs in Nigeria Premier Football League matches over the weekend.

The players showed flashes of brilliance during the two-day exercise, drawing encomiums from Super Eagles interim coach and Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation Augustine Eguavoen, who said he was impressed with what he had seen of the players so far.

“Very impressive, only two training sessions, but you can see that technically they are very good”, Eguavoen said, per NFF TV.

“We still have a lot of work to do because they are coming from different clubs. We have to try to see how we can blend them into one unit”.

Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg between 20 and 22 December, while the second leg holds in Nigeria a week later.

The winner over two legs will automatically qualify for the 2025 CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
