The Managing Director of ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC), Mr. James Makinde, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Imo State government and its host community stakeholders.

During a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Gas Development, Barrister Emeka Mgbudem, the AGPC new helmsman explained that his visit was part of his early stakeholder engagement since assuming office, and it is aimed at building strong relationships critical to the safe and efficient operation of the company’s gas processing activities.

He noted that his priority is to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor, while driving improved operational performance.

‘My predecessor laid a solid foundation. My role is to build on that foundation, optimise the plant’s capacity, and ensure we deliver greater value. This cannot be achieved without a strong partnership with the government and stakeholders’, he said.

Makinde, who has worked previously with Shell and Seplat in the gas sector, emphasised his commitment to collaboration, adding that sustained engagement remains key to achieving operational excellence.

Mgbudem commended AGPC for its proactive, community-driven approach to operations, describing it as exemplary in the oil and gas industry.

He highlighted the company’s direct engagement with host communities as a major strength, noting that such efforts have contributed to improved trust and cooperation.

‘The way AGPC engages directly at the community level is commendable. It has helped build trust and deliver tangible impact through employment and development initiatives’, the Commissioner said.

He reiterated the state government’s support for AGPC operations, noting ongoing efforts to create an enabling environment for investment, including infrastructure development and plans for an energy corridor.

Both parties expressed a commitment to sustained collaboration to promote economic development, energy security, and community prosperity in the state.
