The Bauchi State Government has taken to public through Arewa PUNCH to disclose the payment of a total sum of N396 million for the senior secondary school examination fees of the students in the state.

The decision to pay the said amount for the external examination fees of the 14,170 students in the various public secondary schools across the state for the 2023/2024 academic session is revealed in a statement signed by the Information Officer of the State Ministry of Education, Jalaludeen Usman which copy was made available to PUNCH.

Usman said, “The aim which is in line with the educational support of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s continued steadfastness and dedication to the advancement of education in the state is going to be used for the payment of examinations for the National Examination Council (NECO), West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), NBAIS, etc.

The statement added that “the state government’s efforts at paying JAMB examination fees for 1, 542 outstanding students during this year’s aptitude test, was a strategic move to inspire other students to strive harder in their academic activities and the government’s dedication to nurturing a culture of meritocracy in the state”.
