Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian singer Shakira have reunited ahead of Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final, sharing a light-hearted moment during rehearsals at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Burna Boy shared a video on X showing the two artistes smiling, laughing and embracing as preparations continued for what FIFA has billed as the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA World Cup final.

The Grammy Award-winning singer also teased the performance, expressing his excitement about taking to the stage with Shakira during the tournament’s showpiece event.

FIFA previously announced that Burna Boy and Shakira will headline the halftime entertainment, performing Dai Dai, the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The performance is expected to feature a star-studded line-up, including BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Coldplay’s PS22 Chorus, as well as appearances by characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

The halftime show is expected to run longer than the traditional interval to accommodate the performance and related festivities.

Spain and Argentina will contest the World Cup final on Sunday, with millions of viewers expected to tune in for both the match and the entertainment spectacle.

Burna Boy and Shakira previously performed Dai Dai during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City, where the official World Cup anthem was unveiled.
