Rapper Speed Darlington has expressed interest in facing Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy in a boxing match, saying the bout would give him an opportunity to settle their longstanding dispute.
Darlington made the statement during an interview with Nevon Media while discussing his proposed October 1 boxing bout with skit maker Carter Efe.
The rapper said his grievance with Burna Boy stemmed from his previous detention, adding that he hoped organisers would arrange a fight between them after his bout with Carter Efe.
According to Darlington, facing Burna Boy in the ring would give him an opportunity to release the anger he has carried since the incident and would serve as a major highlight of his year.
He, however, stressed that a boxing match would not end their rivalry, saying they would remain enemies even after the bout.
“The plan is after I finish with Carter Efe, I hope they can make it happen. I want Burna Boy next so I can offload all my anger on him. That would be sweet, that would be the highlight of this year,” he said.
“He had me locked up, that’s what he did to me. That’s the deal, I can’t forgive that. Even after the fight, we are still enemies for life.”
Darlington and Burna Boy have previously been involved in a public dispute, with the rapper repeatedly making comments about the singer following his detention.
