Corps members across Nigeria will soon begin receiving a new monthly allowance of N77,000, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has announced.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Acting Director, Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu.
The statement said, “Corps members across Nigeria will soon begin receiving a new monthly allowance of N77,000”.
Ahmed assured corps members that all arrangements for the payment of the increased allowance have been concluded, signalling an imminent rollout of the improved package.
Speaking at the event, Ahmed highlighted his administration’s commitment to corps members’ welfare, emphasising that the newly donated bus will alleviate transportation challenges faced by both corps members and NYSC staff in the Federal Capital Territory.
He expressed gratitude to the management of Capital Express Insurance Company for their generous donation, acknowledging the long-standing partnership between the NYSC and the insurance firm.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance Company, Matthew Ogwezhi, said NYSC and his company have been in partnership for a while, and the donation was one of the benefits of the synergy as a support for the scheme.
