The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of N2 billion over alleged money laundering involving $2.63 million.
Justice Inyang Ekwo granted the bail on Monday after considering Bodejo’s application, holding that the offences for which he was charged are bailable and that the court had the discretion to admit him to bail.
The court ordered Bodejo to provide two sureties in the sum of N2 billion each.
According to the ruling, one surety must be a resident of Abuja and present three years’ tax clearance certificates, while the second must own landed property valued at N2 billion within the Federal Capital Territory.
Justice Ekwo also directed Bodejo to surrender his international passport to the court registrar and barred him from travelling outside Nigeria without the court’s permission.
“The offence with which the defendant was charged was bailable and the court has the discretionary power to exercise this in his favour,” the judge ruled.
The case was adjourned until 5, 6 and 7 October 2026 for the commencement of trial.
