The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori has called for peace and unity in Nigeria in the new year.

In his new year message to Nigerians, particularly the north. Dalori condemned the recent killings in Plateau State where about 140 people were killed by terrorists in three ;ocal government areas. He described the incident as “one killing too many”.

According to a statement in Lagos on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Yemi Akinbode, Dalori said: “As Nigerians prepared to enter the new year with renewed hope and enthusiasm, it is important to reflect on the events of the past. We should be reminded about the things that unite us as a nation rather than things that divide us. It is high time we eschew all forms of violence, war and senseless killings in our nation. It is imperative that peace and unity in Nigeria will foster and promote progress and development in our society. Therefore, my new year message to Nigerians is that we should preach peace and unity among ourselves because this is the only way that Nigeria will be able to achieve her full potentials and occupy its prime position   among the comity of nations”.

He condemned in strong terms the recent killings in Plateau state, describing the incident as one killing too many, and called on the stakeholders and security agencies to move swiftly to prevent the future re-occurrence of such dastardly act in the society. He also commiserated with the government and people of Plateau State on the tragic incident, praying that Allah rest the souls of the departed and comfort their families.

Dalori, who returned to the country on Sunday after a short holiday in Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, was upbeat and enthusiastic about what Nigerians should expect from the APC-led government in 20th

He said: “President Tinubu is determined to ensure that Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy in the new year. He has laid a solid foundation for the prosperity and growth of the economy.  Therefore, in 2024, the people of Nigeria will savour and relish the outcomes of the hard work and solid foundation the President has laid in the past seven months. You will see that, with the completion and full operation of Dangote refinery in Lagos and coming into stream of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt refinery, relief and sanity is gradually returning to Nigeria as far as fuel supply is concerned. So, once we can sustain our consumption locally, and stop importation of fuel, the prices of petroleum products will decline because we would no longer depends on imported products which lands in our shore at very huge costs.

“I want to appeal to Nigerians to be a little more patient with the government as it is determined to bring the good old time back to Nigerians again”.

Dalori also implored Nigerians irrespective of ethnic, religious, party affiliation or class to rally support for President Bola Tinubu to enable him deliver on his election promise for the development and prosperity of Nigeria”.
