Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to address journalists and residents on security, electoral transparency and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) preparations ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The singer is expected to hold a press conference at 11am on Wednesday at Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, according to an invitation issued on Tuesday.
Announcing the briefing on X, Davido said he would discuss issues surrounding security, INEC and transparency ahead of the election.
“I will be having a press conference tomorrow at Imole House, Osogbo, to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues,” he wrote.
Davido, who was recently appointed Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign, is expected to speak on concerns surrounding security and the credibility of the electoral process, among other issues.
The campaign invitation described the event as an opportunity for Davido to address “security, INEC transparency and other major issues” surrounding the Osun 2026 governorship election.
Governor Adeleke is seeking a second term in the August 15 governorship election, while Davido, who is the governor’s nephew, has taken an active role in the campaign.
The singer has been involved in youth mobilisation activities and other campaign engagements across the state as the election approaches.
