Voting has officially closed for the fifth edition of the Consumers Value Awards (CVA), marking the end of the public voting phase of Nigeria’s consumer-driven recognition platform.

The CVA Secretariat has now commenced the verification and validation of votes as part of efforts to ensure transparency, accuracy and credibility in the selection of winners.

Successful brands and public institutions will receive official notification letters ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for September.

Speaking on the conclusion of the voting process, Convener of the Consumers Value Awards, Akonte Ekine, said the strong participation demonstrated the growing influence of consumers in determining brand excellence.

“Every vote represents a consumer’s experience, confidence and expectation. The conclusion of voting is not the end of the process; it is the beginning of the most critical phase, where every vote is carefully verified to preserve the integrity of the awards,” Ekine said.

He noted that the CVA differs from many industry recognition platforms by placing consumers at the centre of the selection process rather than relying solely on industry panels.

According to him, consumers are increasingly looking beyond competitive pricing when assessing brands, with reliability, transparency and quality service becoming important factors in determining value.

The 2026 edition marks the fifth anniversary of the Consumers Value Awards, which was established in 2022 to recognise brands and institutions that consistently deliver value while encouraging customer-focused business practices.

The winners will be honoured at the Consumers Value Awards ceremony on September 23, 2026.

The event is expected to bring together business leaders, regulators, marketers, consumer advocates and other stakeholders to celebrate brands that have earned recognition from Nigerian consumers.
