DHQ declares 8 wanted over soldiers’ killing in Delta

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has declared eight persons wanted over their roles in the recent killing of 17 military personnel Okuama community, Delta State.

DHQ released the list on Thursday at a briefing in Abuja.

During the bi-weekly update on military operations across the country in Thursday, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba stated that those declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (also known as Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Ogenerukeywe, Reuben Baru, Igoli Ebi.

The 17 soldiers, including four officers, who were buried in Abuja on Wednesday, were killed on a peace mission in the community.

During the funeral programme, President Bola Tinubu conferred national awards on the slain military personnel. He also announced scholarships and house gifts for their children and families.

Four slain officers were awarded the honour of Members of the Order of the Niger (MON), while 13 slain soldiers were honoured with Officers of the Federal Republic medals.
