Renowned food critic Opeyemi Famakin and entertainment mogul Cubana Chiefpriest have sparked a heated debate on social media, following a viral video showcasing a “microwaved burger” that has divided food lovers.

The saga began when Opeyemi Famakin, known for his unflinching reviews of local and international cuisines, posted a detailed critique of a burger from a food outlet owned by ChiefPriest which he claimed was “microwaved” on his Instagram page

While Famakin praised the restaurant’s outlook and aesthetics, he criticized the pastries for being pre-made and microwaved, which affected their quality.

In response to the review, the businessman left a comment expressing his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for visiting, Foodie. Wishing you all the best!”

However, the situation took a turn when Famakin accused Cubana Chiefpriest of threatening him over his review, sharing screenshots of their conversations to support his claim.

In his caption, Famakin expressed fear for his safety and his desire to leave Imo State, stating: “I Know A Threat When I See One, I guess Its Time To Leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold. I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see and it was a different tone in my DM’s.”

In response, Cubana Chiefpriest, on Thursday, took to his Instagram story, accusing Famakin of requesting the wait staff to warm the burgers and questioning why he didn’t just ask them not to.

The celebrity shared CCTV footage with the caption, Cubana Chiefpriest wrote, “You asked them to microwave the burger for you. Stood there and waited for them to do it, then you turned around to sit down and now use it for content.

“If you don’t like burger microwaved, then why did you not stop them, rather you stood there to sh**t the rest of your content as you waited for them to heat up the burger as requested. Thought his review was honest and I appreciated it… then went to blast my staff only for them to tell me he asked them to do so and backed it up with videos.”

The event has since generated mixed reactions on social media.

Disappointed to hear that Cubana Chief Priest allegedly threatened Opeyemi Famakin’s life over a negative review of his son’s restaurant in Owerri. No one deserves to be bullied or intimidated for sharing their honest opinion.

Cubana Chief Priest just missed a chance to leverage Opeyemi Famakin’s criticism.

He could have invited him to their kitchen and made new pastries. Have him taste it and give another review.
