Former Shooting Stars chairman, Lakondoro is dead

A former Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan, Pa Olayiwola Lakondoro died on Thursday at the age of 111 years, according to the club’s chairman, Babatunde Olaniyan in an interview with the Newsmen in Ibadan.

Olaniyan said that the club had been notified of the passing of the former chairman and is already planning to pay the deceased family a visit.

During the World War II, Lakondoro joined the Colonial Army in 1939 which took him to Scotland, India, and Trimia.

Until his death, Pa Lakondoro was the only surviving member of Nigeria footballers, named UK Tourists, who travelled to Britain and played barefoot, and also the oldest 3SC fan and undoubtedly the oldest football fan in Nigeria.
