Galatasaray are expected to complete the signing of Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic within the next two days as they look to secure a back-up for Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
Turkish football transfer expert Süleyman Rodop disclosed the development while providing an update on Galatasaray’s pursuit of the Bosnia and Herzegovina international.
Rodop said Demirovic was on course to join the Turkish champions unless there was an unexpected change in the negotiations.
“Unless something unexpected happens at Galatasaray, Ermedin Demirovic will be Osimhen’s backup,” Rodop was quoted by Habersarikirmizi as saying.
“I think Galatasaray will have finalised the Ermedin Demirovic deal within 1-2 days.”
Demirovic currently plays for Stuttgart and is being targeted by Galatasaray to provide additional attacking depth alongside Osimhen.
The development comes as Galatasaray prepare to face Erzurumspor in their Turkish Süper Lig fixture on Friday night, with the club continuing to strengthen its squad for the season.
