Nigeria’s U-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, have departed for China to participate in the 2026 China International Youth Football Tournament.
The four-nation competition is scheduled to take place from July 5 to July 11, 2026, in Yinchuan, China, and will serve as a key part of the team’s preparations for upcoming international competitions.
A 20-man squad made the trip under the guidance of head coach Uwejamomere Eboboritse, who is accompanied by assistant coaches Kalli Mohammed Kachalla and Abdullahi Isa.
The Golden Eaglets will compete against host nation China, Australia, and Tanzania in the tournament, with all matches set to be played at the Yinchuan Sports Centre Helanshan Stadium.
The tournament is expected to provide valuable competitive experience for the Nigerian side as they intensify preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship, where they will aim to secure qualification for the continental stage.
