Lagos appoints 4 more permanent secretaries, redeploys 3

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of four Permanent Secretaries in the state public service.

They are: Engr. Lateef Ayodele Somide, General Manager, Lagos State Public Works Corporation; Engr. Mahmood Olakunle Adegbite, Director Civil, Office of Drainage Services; Mr. Fatai Audu Emmanuel, Director, Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Mrs. Lyla Morenike Oki, Director, Administration and Human Resource, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

In a statement, the state Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, explained that the appointments were based on merit and impressive track records as the appointees were selected from pool of successful candidates at the screening exercise for appointment into the position of Permanent Secretaries/Tutors General in the state public service.

Agoro expressed confidence in the capabilities and competencies of the appointees, stressing that their recognition was based on diligence, commitment, intellectual capacity and dedication to effective service delivery.

Somide is now Permanent Secretary in the Office of Infrastructure; Adegbite is Permanent Secretary in the Office of Drainage Services; Emmanuel is Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture; and Oki is Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission.

Also, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Drainage Services, Engr. Olalekan Nurudeen Shodeinde has been redeployed to the newly established Office of Urban Development. Others are, the Permanent Secretary, Parastatals Monitoring Office, Dr. Olugbemiga Ayoola Aina who will now serve as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment; while the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Adetutu Oluremi Ososanya will move to Parastatals Monitoring Office as Permanent Secretary.

While wishing them a most rewarding and impactful tenure in office, Agoro said that their appointment will take effect from Monday, 5th February 2024.
