A 40-year-old man has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his father and disposing of his body in a well.
The suspect, identified as Peter Sinamai from Sangere in Gombi Local Government Area of the state, was arrested after police received a report about the incident.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly murdered his biological father and dumped the corpse in a well within the community.
Nguroje said the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, had directed detectives to conduct a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
He added that the recovered body had been taken to a mortuary for an autopsy.
The police spokesperson assured that the suspect would be prosecuted after the conclusion of investigations.
