LA Nigerian academic, Dr. Nsikak Akpa, has received approval from Guinness World Records (GWR) to attempt a staggering 150-hour non-stop lecture.

Akpan aims to break the existing record held by Indian Professor Arvin Mishra, who delivered a 139-hour, 52-minute, and 42-second lecture in 2014.

The marathon lecture, scheduled to take place from 23 to 30 September at Foreign Links College, Moro, Osun State, will focus on “Relationships between Man’s Environment and Health”.

A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr. Akpan seeks to give back to the academic community while highlighting the consequences of environmental neglect on human health.

“I want to use this platform to educate students and the world about the importance of environmental conservation and its impact on human well-being”, Akpan stated.

If successful, Akpan’s feat will set a new global benchmark for marathon lectures, cementing Nigeria’s presence in the Guinness World Records.
