Kano State governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, yesterday, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Kano has no apology for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the president’s re-election in 2027 as a collective responsibility of all party members and government officials.

Yusuf declared that Kano is fully committed to leading the country in delivering massive votes for President Tinubu and securing victory for the APC at all levels in next year’s general election.

He spoke during an interactive session with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, according to a statement by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

‘Kano would lead the country in delivering massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election,” Yusuf said, and added: “The APC administration in Kano has no apology for supporting President Tinubu’.

The governor directed all political appointees in his administration who are yet to register as APC members to do so immediately.

He said every elected and appointed official must identify with the party and actively participate in strengthening its structures ahead of the polls.

Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring APC wins at the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly, and local government levels.

To motivate political office holders, he approved the allocation of plots of land to over 300 political aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters, and Personal Assistants. Each beneficiary will also receive N100,000.

Also speaking at the meeting, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC owes no apology for marketing President Tinubu’s achievements in Kano.

He noted that constituency projects executed by Assembly members with the governor’s support have boosted the party’s acceptance across the state.

Kano APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, declared that ‘the battle line has been drawn’ with the Kwankwasiyya Movement, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in 2027.

At the end of the session, elected and appointed officials unanimously passed a vote of confidence on President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf. They pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively for the APC’s success at all levels in the 2027 elections.

Former Kano State Governor and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has denied reports alleging he accused the Kano State Government of mismanaging public funds through payments to former councillors.

In a statement on Saturday by his Chief of Staff, Comrade Muhammad Garba, Ganduje described the report as ‘false, misleading, and completely unfounded’.

Garba said the publication failed to provide verifiable details of the alleged interview, including the venue, date, time, media platform, or journalist involved.

‘There was no occasion where Dr. Ganduje made such remarks. This is a deliberate attempt to misrepresent his position and create unnecessary political tension’, the statement reads in part.

The former governor stressed that as an elder statesman with access to officials at both federal and state levels, he understands the appropriate channels for offering advice on governance.

‘It will be unbecoming of Dr. Ganduje to invite the media to publicly express his views on how governments are being run.

‘When necessary, he has the opportunity and responsibility to offer constructive advice through the appropriate channels rather than through unverified public statements’, Garba stated.

According to the statement, efforts are already underway to trace the origin of the ‘misleading publication’, with legal steps to follow once those responsible are identified.

Ganduje urged the public to disregard the report and called on media organisations and individuals to verify information before publication, especially on sensitive matters involving public figures.

He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, accountability, and responsible political engagement, while calling for adherence to professional standards in public communication.
