The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has officially unveiled Mr. Adesoji Michael Adedeji as his running mate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Adedeji is reported to be the younger brother of the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji. While Senator Alli is an indigene of Ibadan, his deputy, Adedeji, hails from Iwo-Ate in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of the Ogbomoso geopolitical zone.

The announcement was made shortly after the APC Deputy National Auditor, Gbenga Olayemi, presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to Senator Alli during a party event.

Speaking after receiving the nomination forms, Alli introduced his running mate to party supporters, saying:

“I hereby present to you my deputy governorship candidate, Adesoji Michael Adedeji.”

Addressing party members at the event, APC chieftain Adeyemo urged supporters to remain united and avoid actions capable of undermining the party’s chances in the election.

He noted that the APC has been out of power in Oyo State for eight years and appealed to members to put aside their differences in the interest of the party’s success.

“I want you all to shun all those things that can cause our defeat. We have been out of government for eight years. Let us vote for the party. I want to beg all of us to forget whatever grievances we may have.

“By the grace of God, come May 29, 2027, our governor will be Senator Sharafadeen Alli and our deputy governor will be Mr. Adesoji Adedeji. Let us vote for them. We will all benefit from their government. I appeal to everyone once again in the name of God.”
