The immediate past Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, on Saturday, appeared before the state Judicial Commission of Inquiry investigating some of the actions taken by his administration during his reign as governor.

The state governor, Ahmed Sokoto, upon assumption of office, set up the judicial commission of inquiry to investigate his predecessor.

The former governor, who arrived at the commission of inquiry alongside some of his executive members during his time as the governor, could not however testify before the panel as he was asked to reappear on another date, which they said will be communicated.

Speaking on his social media handle, the Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District said, ” Earlier today, I appeared before the Justice Mu’azu Abdulkadir Pindiga-led Sokoto State Judicial Commission of Inquiry Instituted by my successor, H.E, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

“In leading the younger generation, we must instil in them utmost respect for the rule of law and constituted authorities.

“As citizens, we should realise that no one, no matter how highly placed, should be above the laws of the land, most specifically, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”

“This, amongst other things, brings out the beauty in democracy.

“I wish the commission the very best in its sitting”.
