The Speaker of Taraba State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joseph Albasu Kunini has commended Governor Darius Ishaku for turning the state from a glorified status to that of “a fast growing and model state in the federation”.
For this feat, Prof. Kunini also hailed the entire setup of the executive arm of government, the authorities in the 16 local government areas, the traditional institution and the citizens of the state.
In a message on behalf of the legislature to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the state, which was excised from the now defunct Gongola State, the Speaker wished the “dynamic Governor and his amiable wife God’s guidance and protection, greater wisdom, knowledge and courage to pilot the affairs of the state to enviable heights”.

“I, Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini (MP), on behalf of the Principal Officers, Honourable Members, Clerk, Management and Staff, HEARTILY FELICITATE with His Excellency and Captain of the Rescue Mission, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku; the Deputy Governor, Engr. Haruna Manu; the Chief Judge; the Secretary to the State Government (SSG); the Chief of Staff Government House Administration; the Head of Service; Members of the State Executive Council; caretaker chairmen of the 16 local government areas and the chairmen of the two Special Development areas; the traditional rulers; and the entire Tarabans on the historic occasion of the 31st anniversary of Taraba State, the NATURE’S GIFT TO THE NATION.
“No doubt, 31 years ago Jalingo, the State Calital, which was best described as a glorified state capital, has now become a modern sprawling metropolis, just as the entire state being transformed into a fast growing and model State in the federation.
“Therefore, as we celebrate the 31st anniversary of the State, we wish our dynamic Governor and his amiable wife God’s guidance and protection, greater wisdom, knowledge and courage to pilot the affairs of the State to enviable heights.
