President Bola Tinubu has condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kaduna State and directed security agencies to arrest those responsible and rescue those abducted during the incident.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, where about 30 people, including women and children, were killed, while several houses were set ablaze.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the attack as a “barbaric and cowardly act of terror” against innocent residents.
Tinubu said he had directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations in the affected area to apprehend the perpetrators, secure the release of those abducted and restore normalcy.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly, secure the release of abducted individuals, and restore normalcy to the region,” he said.
The President warned that those behind the attack would be brought to justice, stressing that attempts to undermine peace and security in Kaduna State would not succeed.
He also expressed condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and the people of Kaduna.
Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing insecurity, saying his administration would continue to strengthen the country’s security infrastructure, equip security personnel and dismantle criminal networks.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel, and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he said.
The President also urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and actionable intelligence to support efforts to prevent future attacks and improve emergency response.
