President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in two commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and six federal commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) during a ceremony at the State House in Abuja.
The inauguration, witnessed by Breezy News, took place at the Council Chamber shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by the President.
The appointments come several months after Tinubu forwarded the nominees’ names to the Senate for confirmation as part of appointments into key federal agencies, including the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the NPC, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and the RMAFC.
The newly inaugurated RMAFC commissioners are Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Mukhtar, representing Kaduna State. Before her appointment, Gamawa served as Deputy Director of Administration (Presidential Liaison) at the All Progressives Congress (APC), where she coordinated administrative activities and facilitated liaison between the party’s national secretariat and the Presidency.
President Tinubu also administered the oath of office to six new federal commissioners of the NPC. They are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto).
As reported by Breezy News, the ceremony was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Didi Esther Walson-Jack, alongside ministers and other senior presidential aides.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Federal Executive Council meeting commenced, with ministers expected to present memoranda on key government policies and priority programmes for the council’s consideration.
