The Yaba College of Technology, Lagos will be graduating 7,717 students at its 35th convocation, scheduled to be held from Friday, 17th November to Thursday, 23rd November.
At a press conference on Thursday, the Rector of the college, Dr. Ibraheem Abdul said that the convocation lecture, titled, ‘Empowering Nigerian Youths in the Present Day Economy,’ would be delivered by the Chief of Staff to the president, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila while the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, will chair the lecture.
Abdul said: “The convocation ceremonies will involve the awards of Diplomas, Certificates and Prizes to the graduating students of the 2021/2022 academic session. conferment of the fellowship of the college on eminent and truly deserving Nigerians will also be part of the ceremonies”.
According to him, the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, is the Distinguished Guest of Honour of the convocation on November 23.
“This year, the college is graduating a total of 7,717 students. 254 of these students got distinction. 1,893 students are graduating in the Upper Credit division while 3,940 students are graduating in Lower Credit, and 1,630 are in the Pass grade.
“Furthermore, the college will be conferring fellowship awards on three outstanding Nigerians at the 35th Convocation Ceremony. They are Lady Christine Doja Otedola, Comrade Hassan Adebayo Sunmonu and His Excellency, Engr. Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum”, he added.
