Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the reappointment of Dr Taiwo Fasoranti as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Fasoranti, son of Afenifere national leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti, had earlier resigned from the position to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Ondo Central in April.
His reappointment followed his failure to secure the party’s ticket ahead of the forthcoming general election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the appointment takes immediate effect.
The statement read: “The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the reappointment of Dr Taiwo Fasoranti as the Secretary to the State Government.
“Dr Fasoranti was the SSG until 30 March, 2026, when he resigned to contest in the Senate primaries of the All Progressives Congress for Ondo Central Senatorial District.
“Fasoranti brings to the office a wealth of experience in public administration, policy formulation and governance.”
Aiyedatiwa congratulated the newly reappointed SSG and urged him to justify the confidence placed in him by serving the people of Ondo State with dedication, integrity and commitment to the administration’s “Our Ease” agenda.
Fasoranti was earlier declared winner of the APC primary election for the Ondo Central Senatorial District in May, but his name was later replaced with that of the incumbent senator, Niyi Adegbonmire.
