Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has revealed that legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sent him a message as he prepares to leave the Cityzens in the coming days.
Guardiola disclosed this during his pre-match press conference ahead of Man City’s final Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Spaniard will leave Man City at the end of the season after a 10-year stay at the Premier League giants.
Guardiola has now revealed that Ferguson had been in touch to congratulate him on his time at City.
‘One of the biggest compliments I had: I got a message from Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday. That made me so happy’, Guardiola said.
‘A Scottish accent, I didn’t understand it! I will call him back. Congratulations on the trajectory and for what we achieved. It means a lot to me’.
