The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced reductions in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel).
Under the new pricing structure, the refinery reduced the price of petrol from N1,215 to N1,165 per litre, representing a N50 reduction.
The price of diesel was also reduced from N1,650 to N1,570 per litre, amounting to an N80 decrease.
The Dangote Group disclosed the price adjustments in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the move was aimed at improving energy affordability, expanding access to refined petroleum products and supporting economic activities across the country.
The refinery said the reduction reflected its commitment to providing affordable and high-quality petroleum products to Nigerian consumers.
It added that it would continue to leverage improved operational efficiencies to maintain stable supplies and deliver value to consumers, businesses and other stakeholders.
According to the company, it would continue to pass the benefits of improved operational efficiency to consumers whenever market conditions permit.
The refinery also said it remained committed to strengthening Nigeria’s energy security, reducing dependence on imported petroleum products and supporting economic development through the production and supply of refined fuels.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market,” the statement said.
The company noted that the new prices put petrol at N1,165 per litre, down from N1,215, while diesel now sells at N1,570 per litre, compared with the previous N1,650.
It said the price review was part of its ongoing efforts to enhance energy affordability, improve access to locally refined petroleum products and support economic activities across Nigeria.
