NIMC DG proceeds on retirement leave, as Tinubu appoints Coker-Odusote

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Aliyu Abubakar Aziz to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave from Thursday.

Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote is to serve as the acting Director-General/CEO.

The leave will lead to his retirement from service on 24th November, according to a statement on Tuesday.

In November 2015, the then President Mohammadu Buhari approved Aziz’s appointment as the CEO of the commission.

After the end of his tenure in 2019, Buhari granted a renewal which allowed Aziz to serve a second term expected to end in November this year.

In the statement, presidential spokesman, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale said that. according to the approval by President Bola Tinubu, Coker-Odusote is to serve as the acting DG/CEO for 90 days from Thursday, after which, a full term of four years will begin on 24th November as the substantive NIMC DG/CEO.

Coker-Odusote is the General Manager/CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub as the Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).

“This appointment takes immediate effect”, Ngelale said.

He said the decision follows the recent expiration of the tenure of DTAC Director/CEO, Pius Osunyikanmi.

Yakub is a member of the House of Representatives from Gombi/Hong federal constituency of Adamawa State.
