Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Nweke has appealed for financial support after revealing his private battle with colon cancer.
In an Instagram video titled ‘My Cancer Journey’ shared on Friday, Nweke disclosed that he was diagnosed with the disease in 2025 and had spent more than ₦15 million on chemotherapy, radiotherapy, medical tests, scans and medication.
The actor said he had been managing the condition privately but was now seeking assistance as he continues with treatment. He expressed appreciation to his family and colleagues, including Uche Nancy, Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold and Ebele Okaro, for their support throughout his health journey.
Nweke said his treatment was ongoing and that doctors had advised him to proceed with the next phase of care to improve his chances of recovery.
“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming,” he said.
Appealing to the public for support, the actor added that contributions, prayers and sharing his message would help him continue his fight against the illness.
“Today, I’m humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers, and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life,” he said.
