Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa, best known for his portrayal of police officers and his popular catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief?”, has dismissed viral reports claiming that he is dead.
Rumours of the actor’s alleged death spread across social media after an obituary poster announcing his purported demise circulated online.
Responding to the claims in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, Ajasa reassured fans that he is alive and in good health.
“I’m still very much alive and in good health,” he said.
The actor also condemned those responsible for circulating the false report, saying: “To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender, to you and your family.”
Addressing supporters in Nigeria and abroad, Ajasa said: “Good day everyone. My name remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans, both in Nigeria and abroad, that I’m still very much alive. I’m alive, hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me.”
