Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham is set to return to cinemas with her latest film, BESTIE, which is scheduled for nationwide release on December 16, 2026.
The forthcoming production marks another major project in Abraham’s growing film career, further cementing her position as one of Nollywood’s prominent actresses, producers and filmmakers.
The announcement follows the strong performance of her previous cinema release, Oversabi Aunty, which crossed the N1 billion mark at the Nigerian box office.
The success of the film also earned Abraham recognition from the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB).
Abraham had previously hinted that she would have another cinema project arriving in December after announcing that Alábọ̀sí 2 would be her final YouTube movie of 2026.
At the time, the filmmaker teased her audience with the prospect of “another beautiful chapter”, suggesting that more ambitious productions were on the way.
The release of BESTIE is also timed to coincide with one of the busiest periods on Nigeria’s cinema calendar. December traditionally attracts large cinema audiences, with filmmakers and distributors scheduling major releases to take advantage of increased entertainment spending and audience turnout during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
With BESTIE now lined up for a December release, anticipation is expected to build among Abraham’s fans as they await her latest offering on the big screen.
