Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has maintained a close relationship with his family for decades and has offered him financial advice since childhood.
Davido made the disclosure during a recent interview, recalling the longstanding relationship between the Dangote and Adeleke families.
The singer said Dangote was a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, and had remained a familiar figure in his life from childhood into adulthood.
According to Davido, Dangote even drove his mother home from the hospital after she gave birth to him.
He added that the billionaire has consistently advised him to save and manage his money whenever they meet.
“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” Davido said.
The singer noted that Dangote’s advice had remained relevant throughout his career in the entertainment industry, particularly as he has navigated the financial demands and opportunities that come with global success.
Davido said the relationship between the two families had lasted for decades, while describing Dangote’s continued guidance as a meaningful part of his personal and professional journey.
