Following the tragic demise of popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope and his co-crew members, who were involved in a boat accident and drowned on their way to a movie set on 10 April 2024, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has hinted at taking legal action against the movie producer, Adanma Luke and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).

Since the unfortunate incident was recorded, the movie industry has not only been thrown into a state of grief, but has also been divided on a way forward regarding the safety of actors on set with many blaming the producer of the film Pope was working on, “The Other Side Of Life”, produced by Adamma Luke.

AGN president, Emeka Rollas, who gave the hint, stated that Adanma Luke’s involvement in the incident is actionable.

Adanma was accused of negligence, following claims that she did not provide life jackets for her crew, a claim she later debunked, saying that life jackets were available but Junior Pope rejected his because it was dirty.

Adanma has also been suspended indefinitely by the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) and Actors Guild.

Meanwhile, supporting her friend, Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, has come to defend the movie producer and her friend, stating that contrary to popular opinion, Adanma Luke, the producer on whose movie set Junior Pope and three others died recently, is not “careless”.

Many have described her as “careless” for not providing life jackets for her cast and crew.
During an exchange with fans on her Instagram page, Ogbodo insisted that Luke is not careless, stressing that “mistakes” happen even in Hollywood.

Ogbodo shared a picture of the embattled producer with the caption: “The strongest woman, determined, kind, and soft at heart. Neefe, your life is with you. See this one through. God gat you for life”.
